Story
Brad and Deb are long-term Converge missionaries serving in Senegal. After twelve years of impactful ministry in a rural Muslim context, they now lead projects in a large city as part of the Metro SenWest Initiative.
Their ministry focuses on reaching the Wolof and Fulani people groups, who are both unreached and resistant to the gospel. Among the 12 million Wolof and Fulani living in Senegal, there are fewer than 600 Christians—a ratio of 20,000 Muslims for every Christian within these groups.
Brad and Deb’s primary goal is to catalyze a Disciple Making Movement (DMM) in Senegal. To achieve this, they engage in the following key activities:
- Organizing intercessory prayer: They encourage and facilitate prayer for Muslims throughout Senegal.
- Engaging Muslims: They build relationships with Muslim men and women, fostering spiritual conversations and facilitating chronological Bible studies.
- Looking for “persons of peace”: They seek individuals who are open to the gospel and willing to invite their families, friends, and neighbors to discover God through Bible studies in their homes.
- Facilitating Discovery Bible Studies (DBS): Using this replicable method, Brad and Deb help people explore who God is through His Word.
- Training and coaching: They equip Senegalese Christians and other missionaries with DMM principles and practices to lead DBS groups effectively.
- Bible translation and distribution: They collaborate with Senegalese Christians and missionaries to translate, print, audio record, and distribute the Bible in the Wolof language.
